There is something much deeper about "just notice" than just noticing. After reading this I believe this will take more practice for me and my fellow procrastinators 💬

I think one thing that's really tricky about noticing is that you notice the *shit* as well. And that doesn't feel good, so we tend to just blast through life on rocket speed, hoping to just ignore/downplay everything... everything from shitty emotions we don't "like" to situations in the world we don't like. Noticing requires courage.

Noticed:

A large group of people at a table in a restaurant. The waiter was arriving with a huge heavy tray and a paper of some kind fell off the tray. He slowly stooped down still holding loaded tray on his hand. When he came back up, they gave him a roaring round of applause!

At the same time in the restaurant, another large table was having trouble splitting the bill with the mobile credit card reader. They asked for help from the waitress and she quickly tried to show them but didn’t allow time for them to really understand. One gentleman gave the other gentleman some cash. They were all putting money on the table for a tip. The man that had asked for help started to walk away, he got two tables down and returned and took part of his tip back. If the waitress had been more patient showing him the machine, she would’ve had a few more dollars.

If I was on my cell phone while I was eating, I would’ve missed all of that 😉

Maybe this is where I get my POWERS OF PERCEPTION!™ I find that one of the secret weapons I have for being funny is listening so hard/tracking the conversation so thoroughly that as soon as an opportunity to make a joke opens itself up, I’m ready. You can’t do that if you’re on your phone. You can’t do that if you’re half-listening, nervous about what to say next.

Loved your thought process and explanation of conscious awareness. Lots of gold in here. Overthinking, under-feeling was SUCH a great way to put it!!

You know me, always overthinking and underfeeling. It's easier to philosophize on what oneself is dealing with ;)
